How it works

Where these numbers come from

Nobody measures anything here. Every score is what the people living in that area say it is, which is the whole point and also the thing worth understanding before you trust one.

1

Only residents rate

An account is tied to one area, the one you live in. You cannot rate a place you have only visited, and moving is a deliberate change you can make twice a year.

2

Every review is read first

Nothing publishes automatically. We check it against the rules, remove anything naming a person, and close the account of any agent or landlord reviewing their own patch.

3

We show you how much to trust it

An average sits on the page from the very first review, and every card says how many it is built on. We only call it reliable at 25. One person’s 5.0 is not the same claim as thirty people’s 4.6.

Rate your area

Tell it like it is

Name your area, rate the light and the internet, tell us which internet service you rely on and roughly how many hours of power you get. About a minute, and it is the single most useful thing you can do for the next person house-hunting in your area.

Have a look around. Posting a review needs a free account, so create one before you write.

Frequently asked questions

The headline numbers are free for everyone with no account needed: the overall score, the power stars and the internet stars. Full written reviews sit behind a free sign-up because it keeps the community accountable: an account makes it much harder to flood an area with fake ratings, and it lets us contact a reviewer if a listing is disputed.

Every rating comes from someone who lives, or has lived, in that area. We average power supply and internet quality separately, then show a combined score built from those two averages. Nothing is weighted or adjusted by us.

An area is marked reliable once it has 25 or more resident reviews. Below that we show a progress indicator instead, because a handful of ratings can be skewed by one unusually good or bad month.

Yes. Searching areas, seeing summary scores and creating an account are all free. Rating your own area is free too, because it is how the platform stays useful for the next person searching.

No. Arandmi is a record of where people live now, not a memory of where they used to. Your account is tied to one area — the one you rate — and while you live there it is the only area you can rate.

The reason is what a reader sees. A rating written by somebody who moved away five years ago sits on the page looking exactly like one written last week, and the person deciding whether to move there has no way of telling them apart.

If you have moved, change your area and rate the new one. What you wrote about the old place stays up and keeps counting towards its average, marked Former resident.

Yes, and you do it yourself. Open My reviews from your account menu, choose Change your area, then pick your state, your LGA and type where you live now. If nobody has written about that area yet, typing it puts it on Arandmi.

You can do this twice in a year. Moving twice is normal; working through the map rating places you have never lived is not, so the door closes after the second change until the year is up.

What you already wrote stays published and keeps counting towards that area’s average, because someone reading about it still needs your account of it. It picks up a Former resident note so readers know you have since left, and it can no longer be edited.

Every review is moderated before it appears, and any listed area can be reported once it is live. We remove reviews that name individuals, contain abuse, or are clearly written by someone with a commercial interest in the area.

Coverage

Where residents have rated so far

39 reviews across 32 neighbourhoods in 8 states. Rivers is furthest ahead because that is where people started. Everywhere else is still thin, which is exactly where one review changes the most.

Your area already has an answer. Go and find it.

Search a neighbourhood free, or spend a minute rating your own and help someone else avoid a bad lease.
