Rumuosi is a community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State, one of the LGA’s 17 electoral wards.
Where it sits
Rumuosi began as an Ikwerre village on what was then the outer edge of Port Harcourt, one of a cluster of such villages that Obio/Akpor’s growth has since drawn closer to the city proper. It shares boundaries with Alakahia, Rumuolaogu, Ozuoba, Rumuekini, and Choba.
Governance
Rumuosi keeps a traditional paramount ruler alongside the ward’s local government representation. HRH Eze Titus Bekweri Okemini Akani took the throne in 2024, continuing a governance structure that predates the LGA itself.
